All first-year and transfer students must submit an application to Virginia Tech. Once accepted to the College of Engineering, first-year and transfer students are admitted to the general engineering major, housed in the Department of Engineering Education, where a major focus is allowing students the opportunity to explore the 15 degree-granting engineering majors available at Virginia Tech.
Potential graduate students must apply to both Virginia Tech’s Graduate School and to the individual graduate degree program within Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering. The College of Engineering offers 16 doctoral and 19 master's degree programs in 18 areas of study.
